Introduction to the Concert Moving Light Fixtures
In just about every meeting or phone call I take part in. I often discover that when it comes to moving light, most potential clients benefit from a tiny bit of education as to the value and necessity of concert style lighting for just about any special event. Over the years I’ve developed a few ways to quickly and effectively guide folks through the information and hopefully, open their minds to the ideas that can be generated when you introduce automated lighting.
What’s so special about these lights?
When you introduce a lighting instrument that has the ability to take the output beam and move it in any direction in a nearly 360 degree field of view, you also introduce an amazing new layer of creative potential to any event. These fixtures have applications far beyond a rock and roll concert. Personally, I’ve used these types of fixtures for everything from Fashion Shows to Corporate events and yes, even weddings. In fact, Jonathan Nunn at Klassik Entertainment worked with us many years ago to put together what we called the “4 Totem Mover Package” which consisted of 4 moving lights each on a 7′ Truss Tower placed on each corner of the dance floor at your reception. With these 4 positions we were able to spot light the bride and groom’s Grand Entrance, the Cake Cutting, First Dance and Flower Toss. And of course they also make for a pretty cool party once all the formalities are out of the way. This package has been so successful that we still see it on the schedule a time or two each month. When you are able to move the light, you need less of it in order to accomplish the same goals. When you can adjust color, shape, speed, movement and all the other functions of the fixture on the fly and in real time, you never have to worry with a light being placed in a poor spot or focused on the wrong thing. Basically, moving head fixtures add an elasticity to your event that gives the show the chance to breath. Changes can be made in real time. Modifications can be made with subjects on stage to ensure that, even if someone stands in a place other than what was rehearsed, they are still properly lit. Moving light will always provide the WOW factor you’re searching for in your design. They will make any event feel larger and last but certainly not least, they will add a level of clout and authenticity that will tie directly into the growth of you and your brand.
We have a LOT of them
We are lucky enough to have many different sizes, types and styles in our moving light inventory. With them we are able to create any look that the client can dream up. We also own all of the supporting infrastructure needed to properly and safely, deploy the equipment.
